Starting the Baby Updates...better late than never :)

24 weeks!

How far along? 24 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 6 pounds

Maternity clothes? Yes, this time I popped so much sooner so I have been wearing maternity pants for 4-5 weeks and some maternity tops but mostly just bigger tops.

Sleep: Getting better now that my 3 week sinus infection is clearing up.

Best moment this week: Owen being able to feel the baby kick :-)

Worst moment this week: Sinus Infection!!!  Started another antibiotic this week and FINALLY feeling better!

Movement: ALL DAY and I love it!!

Food cravings: Not really anything at the moment.  Guess being sick has killed my urge to eat much.

Labor Signs: No and Thank Goodness!  I remember last time around 24-25 weeks is when I was put on bedrest.  So thankful things are going better this time around!

Weekly Wisdom: Cherish these moments as a family of 3 and with my sweet boy.  Every day is not promised.  Remembering a sweet family this week as their sweet 7 year old girl lost her battle with cancer.

Looking forward to next week: 4 week check-up and hearing baby boy's heartbeat.

Lots of Updates...

First off...Owen's 2nd Birthday Party was a blast!  He had a great time with all his friends from the neighborhood and from school.  I am still shocked at how many people we had in our house...WHOA!  But it was a success and he had a great time!  He especially loved the bounce house.  I could not get him out of is.  The weather was perfect especially since the week before was HOT!  But Owen's birthday was a cool and breezy low 80's.

Second...Owen's 2 year Well Check Stats.  Weight 28, Height 36.5, Head...still big and in the 90%-tile :)  He's got to be a smart one with a head that big...ha!  He's talking above average and doing everything he's supposed to be for a 2 year old :)  We couldn't agree more.  To us Owen is our little explorer and into everything.  What he loves right now is counting in English and Spanish.  He can count to 15 in English and 10 in Spanish.  He also loves to cook.  That's his new thing at the moment.  Whenever we are in the kitchen making something, he drags over a chair and has to help!  "I do it Mommy" :)  We love his little independence and love seeing him explore new things.

Third...Owen experienced his first earthquake on Aug 23rd 2011.  This was a big one, 5.8!  Owen was home with Daddy b/c he wasn't feeling so well and Mommy was at work...umm...on the 13th floor...YIKES!  It occured at 1:51pm, during Owen's nap and Daddy said the whole house shook for a while, things fell off shelves and of course he scooped Owen up and held him under the door jam.  Mommy couldn't reach Daddy for a while but was so thankful that he was home with Owen to keep him safe.  Mommy was the brave one, stayed on the 13th floor and waited out the quake...with the other ladies of the office.  Funny how all the men disappeared :)  We are so thankful that everyone was ok.

Fourth...well, this is a big one but since I am behind, we'll make it short and sweet.  Owen is going to be a big brother Feb 20th (ish) 2012.  We are so very excited to welcome another sweet baby boy into our family.  Everything thought for sure that we were having a girl b/c this pregnancy has been so much different than with Owen but I knew deep down that it was a little boy.  I always saw myself surrounded buy boys :)  We are excited and nervous all at the same time.  Owen is very excited. Since I am showing faster with this second pregnancy he knows where the baby is and calls the baby "stinker"...so cute!  We always call Owen little stinker so when we asked if he wanted a little brother, he said "yes, baby stinker"...ha!  He loves touching my belly and kissing it.  He's going to be a great big brother.  I am 22 weeks and feeling pretty good!  Hoping it continues!

Fifth....We just got back from our Family OBX vacation and had a great time.  Owen Loved the ocean and first thing he would say every morning is "let's go to Ocean" and we did.  Morning and afternoon we spent chasing Owen on the beach.  Running in and out of waves.  This child has no fear!  There were some times when we really had to hold on to him b/c the undertow was so strong.  He loved when Daddy held him and they walked far out and the waves crashed on his head.  He has no fear!  We will definitely be the first to sign up for swimming lessons next year!  Mommy and Daddy got a few date nights and the other nights, well we just went to bed early to relax.  It was a nice break.

Well, that's about it for now.  More updates on Owen and the pregnancy to come...and more often this time!
